Creating a Wig Template

Throughout levels 4 and 5 I have had practice with creating wig templates and have learnt different techniques of wrapping and pin curling the hair. To ensure my wig template was made correctly and at a profesional level I recaped the prosess before creating it.

My first model.
She is a second year student who was very keen and had collarborated with a variety of other students before.
When we initially met we disscused that I would need to meet with her for fittings of the wig, test makeups and practices before the final day of shooting which she agreed with no problem.
Creating my Wig template:
I created five main pin curls to start with which were in the place of the points for the wig, the pin curls were created beside the temples (infront of the ears) on both sides of the head and two each side of the nape of the neck, and one in the middle at the bottom of the neck. I then pin curled the rest of the hair in small sections cross gripping them. I then applied the wig sock to ensure all the hair was tight to the head, making sure all the hair was pushed under. I then applied cling film all over the head and then tightly celoptaped the head. I took measurements writing onto the template then removed it.
I was really happy with how neat the template was. I was messaging my model disscussing and finalising dates for the final day of shooting, when she started taking ages to reply to my messages. I tried to arrange a meeting with her and the costume designer and the day before the arranged date she had made other plans. I was consered at this point because she was appearing to be very unreliable and I was falling back on my time plan as I didn't want to waste time starting the wig beacuse I was considering using another more reliable model. I started to message and look for other models while arranging one last date to meet with her. An hour before we were suppose to meet she messaged claiming she was stuck in London. As I had already waisted to much time and I was falling behind my time plan I decided to use another model.

I then re did the same technique with my new model. My new models hair was a lot longer than my original models hair so pin curling it all took a little longer and was slightly more difficult, but her hair was thinner so I found it easier to pin curl the whole head really neatly.
Creating the wig template for the second time went a lot better as the template I created was a lot neater.
I took the measurements of my models head:
Nape to nape: 17cm
Ear to ear (over the models head): 32cm
Front to back : 34.5cm
Circumfrance: 57cm
Ear to ear (Around the back of the head): 23cm
From my initial and developed designs I knew that I didn't want my wig to have a partin so knew I didnt need to measure it back or mark in where the partin would be.
